Uluru - 3 day itinerary

Day 1:        Arrive at Uluru

Flights into Uluru usually arrive at lunchtime, giving visitors an opportunity to do an afternoon and evening activity. Transfers from the airport to the hotel are included, and Ayers Rock Resort check in is at 3.00pm.

Maruku Arts offer 1 ½ hour dot painting workshops in the afternoon in the town centre, just a few minutes’ walk from the hotels. Classes are taught by a local Anangu artist, who will show visitors traditional art, symbols and tools before the group creates their own artwork to take home.

After the workshop, check into your accommodation at one of the many hotels at Ayers Rock Resort, before heading to Wintjiri Wiru experience.

Wintjiri Wiru offers visitors a breathtaking 20-minute cultural storytelling experience at Uluru. Watch the ancestral Mala story comes to life with choreographed drones, lasers and projections narrated in the Pitjantjatjara language against the backdrop of Uluru's twilight silhouette. Drinks, canapés and hotel transfers are included.

The Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner is available which includes a gourmet dinner hamper. For those who prefer a sit down offering, there are several dinner options available at the resort:

Ilkari – Meaning "sky" in Pitjantjatjara, Ilkari offers a dinner menu blending Indigenous flavours with international cuisine, showcasing the finest Australian produce alongside chef's specialties and a mouth-watering intercontinental array of desserts.

Mangata Bistro & Bar – Mangata offers a diverse range of light meals showcasing the finest Australian produce with notes of bush tucker flavours throughout.

Arnguli Grill & Restaurant – Experience exquisite Australian cuisine infused with indigenous flavours amidst the serene backdrop of ghost gums overlooking the pool. Indulge in a diverse menu, signature grills, and premium Australian wines.

Day 2:        Uluru

Get up early for a sunrise Uluru Segway Tour, a fun way to circumnavigate the base of Uluru. The tour includes hotel transfers, a light breakfast and training so no experience needed! Take a short, guided walk into Mutitjulu Waterhole at the base of the rock before the experience.

Return to the resort in the late morning and spend the afternoon on an afternoon activity, options include:

SEIT Kata Tjuta Domes Tour – A short drive to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, you’ll find the panoramic views of Kata Tjuta, thriving unique flora and fauna, and mighty conglomerate domes. The 3-hour guided tour includes a water bottle with refill water, complimentary iPods for translating audio available upon request. Hotel transfers are also included.

Alternatively, soak up the panoramic views of Uluru on a scenic flight over the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park with Professional Helicopter Services or Fly Uluru.

Tonight, enjoy the Uluru Sacred Sites and Sunset tour including a barbecue dinner. Listen to the incredible history of the region as you travel around the base of Uluru by coach, before watching the sunset.  Enjoy dinner with Uluru as your backdrop, listening to a tour of the night sky, including visible constellations and Aboriginal stories. Hotel transfers are included.

Day 3:        Depart Uluru

Rise early for the Uluru Sunrise and Field of Light tour.  Visit the kaleidoscopic art installation in the desert, where your guide will provide insights and background into this emotive and unique desert art installation. Under the cover of darkness, you’re invited to wander through the pathways that encompass the 50,000 spheres of light in colours of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white.

Return to the resort and enjoy breakfast, before checking out of your accommodation and departing for Ayers Rock airport.
